Netflix’s romantic comedy series Can This Love Be Translated?, which follows the unpredictable love story that unfolds when multilingual interpreter Joo Ho-jin is assigned to global superstar Cha Moo-hee, brought its stars and director to Jakarta, igniting an enthusiastic response from fans and media alike.

Director Yoo Young-eun, along with lead actors Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung, met with Asian media and fans in Jakarta on the 16th, the day of the series’ global release, further cementing the show’s international buzz. The visit followed a highly successful production presentation and fan event held in Korea on the 13th.

The trio first visited the “Romantic Trip” pop-up experience zone at the atrium of Kota Kasablanka, one of Jakarta’s largest shopping malls. The pop-up, which had previously drawn strong attention from fans in Korea, recreated the series’ “Romantic Trip” concept through themed spaces inspired by Korea, Japan, Canada and Italy. Kim Seon-ho and Go Youn-jung toured the venue amid cheers from local fans, revisiting memorable scenes and moments from the series.

At 3 p.m. local time, the exact hour of the show’s release, the cast joined fans for a live countdown, filling the venue with thunderous applause and excitement. The “Romantic Trip” pop-up, which captures the unique emotional tone of Can This Love Be Translated?, will remain open from Jan. 16 to 18, offering visitors a special immersive experience.

The press conference, held at Aruba Hall in Kota Kasablanka, drew around 80 media outlets, including major Indonesian press as well as journalists from Taiwan, the Philippines, and Thailand. Director Yoo and the two lead actors responded to the overwhelming interest by sharing insights into the series and their characters.

Director Yoo remarked, “It’s such an honor to meet viewers from all over the world through this project. I’m incredibly excited. I even made a four-leaf clover bookmark at the pop-up experience zone myself, and I was so grateful to see fans enjoying the series as if they were traveling together with Ho-jin and Moo-hee.”

Kim Seon-ho shared, “I could truly feel how much our fans have been waiting for Can This Love Be Translated?. I’m leaving here deeply moved and energized.”

Go Youn-jung added, “It was my first time receiving such loud cheers at a pop-up event, and I was so touched by the support. I’ll make sure to repay that love with an enjoyable series.”

Their heartfelt comments reflected the strong affection Jakarta audiences have for Korean content, further warming the atmosphere of the event.

Following its successful engagements in both Korea and Indonesia, Can This Love Be Translated? continues to connect with global media and fans and is now streaming exclusively on Netflix.
