Park Jung-min and Park Kang-hyun’s Life of Pi to Open Its Korean Premiere in Busan on March 7.

The Busan leg of the Korean premiere of Life of Pi has officially been confirmed as the production’s final stop.

The Busan performances will run for a limited eight days, from March 7 to March 15. Tickets go on general sale at 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, while presales will be available from 2 p.m. on Feb. 4 to 9 a.m. on Feb. 5 for production newsletter subscribers, Dream Theatre website members, and Busan Bank customers.

Life of Pi is the stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s globally bestselling, Man Booker Prize–winning novel, following Ang Lee’s Academy Award–winning film. Celebrated for its extraordinary imagination, the production brings the novel’s rich world to life through music, video, lighting, and innovative puppetry, transforming the stage into a vivid visual spectacle. After premiering in London’s West End and on Broadway, the production achieved both critical and commercial success, winning five Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.

At the heart of Life of Pi’s success are the powerful performances by its cast. Park Jung-min and Park Kang-hyun, who alternate in the role of Pi, deliver intensely physical and emotionally demanding performances that carry the production from start to finish. They are joined by veteran actors Seo Hyun-chul, Hwang Man-ik, Joo Ah, and Song In-seong, whose strong ensemble work has fueled word-of-mouth praise that the show is a must-see in the theater.

Particular acclaim has been directed at the highly realistic and meticulously crafted puppetry and movement, which vividly capture the presence and emotions of animals, including the Bengal tiger.

Life of Pi tells the epic 227-day survival journey of Pi and the Bengal tiger Richard Parker, stranded together in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. The Seoul performances run through March 2 at the GS Arts Center, before the production moves to Busan.
