Karina, a member of K-pop group aespa, said she prepared for the second season of the Netflix variety show ‘Agents of Mystery’ by visiting real-life escape game rooms to sharpen her problem-solving skills.

Karina made the remarks during a press conference for the show held Thursday at Hotel Naru Seoul MGallery in western Seoul. Producers Jung Jong-yeon, Kim Seo-gu and Lee Won-ki attended the event alongside cast members Lee Yong-jin, John Park, Hyeri, Kim Do-hoon, Karina and Gabee.

Mystery Investigation Team is an adventure mystery variety series in which cast members investigate and solve strange incidents that cannot be explained by science.

Karina, who gained investigative experience during the first season, said viewers can expect a more candid side of her in the new season.

“I think I showed a more raw and honest side of myself compared to Season 1, so I feel a bit nervous,” she said. “But I think viewers will enjoy it. In a world where people crave excitement, I hope our show can deliver that kind of thrill.”

She also revealed that she visited several escape rooms ahead of filming as part of her preparation.

“I went to multiple escape rooms before filming, but the scale of the actual set was much bigger than I expected,” she said with a laugh. “If there’s another season, I think I’ll need to visit larger and more famous escape rooms to prepare.”

Karina added that she also tried to build her courage by watching horror films, despite not being a fan of the genre.

“I don’t usually watch horror movies, but for Season 2, I made an effort to try, even if I couldn’t watch them properly,” she said.

‘Agents of Mystery Season 2’ ,will premiere exclusively on Netflix on Feb. 27.
